Component 1: 20th Century Literature Reading and Creative Prose Writing
Section A: Reading (40 marks)
One unseen 20th century literary prose extract, 60 to 100 lines
Section B: Prose Writing (40 marks)
One of four titles. Must be narrative or recount, not purely descriptive
Component 2: 19th and 21st Century Non-Fiction Reading and Transactional Writing
Section A: Reading (40 marks)
Two unseen non-fiction texts, one 19th century and one 21st, 900 to 1200 words
Section B: Writing (40 marks)
Two compulsory tasks at 20 marks each
Component 3: Spoken Language
